Dear Friends,
The Homeless Engagement Roundtable (the Roundtable), comprised primarily of representatives from faith-based organizations and agencies working with people experiencing homelessness or hunger insecurity, was involved in helping start the Oak City Outreach Center. The Center is a place where a community of agencies and people of faith work together to serve the hungry and homeless a meal with dignity and fellowship on weekends and holidays.
The Roundtable will hold a Community Day of Prayer at the Center this November during National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. Our goal is to remember in prayer those who are hungry and homeless.
Please plan on participating in this Community Day of Prayer on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 12:00 – 12:45pm at the Oak City Outreach Center, 215 South Person Street, in downtown Raleigh. (The Center is behind the brick building at 215 South Person. Parking is on the street or in nearby parking decks.)
As people of faith from various traditions, we hope you and your members will join us in this organized prayer event to remember those in need in our community. Please share this invitation with your members and friends who are involved with and supportive of those in our community who are experiencing homelessness or hunger insecurity.
For more information and ways you can participate, please contact Amanda Renfroe, alrenfro@ncsu.edu.
